Our purpose is to provide quality, affordable, and professional dance instruction that would allow our
students to fall in love with the art of dance, to instill in our students a love and appreciation for dancing
and the dedication that it requires, and to provide an atmosphere that is family friendly and age
appropriate, giving children a safe and welcoming environment.
We provide a place where families can feel comfortable entrusting their children to our instructors,
instructors who will teach them with patience and professionalism, that will pass on to them their love
and passion for the art of dance, instructors that will give extra attention to the age appropriateness of
the choreography taught and the selection of music choices for in class use, and for performance. We
offer affordable tuition rates as well as affordable costumes, recital fees, and other additional costs
without compromising quality. We always make sure our families are up to date and aware of all
policies and procedures so that they can feel secure and guided throughout their child’s dance
instruction.

Students who will feel confident either in pursuing a career in dance or whatever it is that they set out to
achieve. We believe in training our dancers for the future, achieved by proper and correct technical
instruction with an emphasis on age appropriateness at their individual level.
SMALL CLASS SIZES FOR EVERY LEVEL - We keep our class sizes small, to ensure personal
attention for every student from the instructor. Since 1999, only 10 students max per class! Our
small class sizes also ensure that your dancer will have a special place in every performance...no
more searching for your child on stage through a huge crowd!
AFFORDABLE TUITION - We offer tuition that you can afford, every child should have the opportunity
to receive quality dance instruction!
FAMILY FRIENDLY - Our atmosphere is family oriented and you and your child will feel at home in
our studio. Each family is special, and each child is unique. All of our students are given the
opportunity to challenge themselves and develop their skills and talents at their own pace.
AGE APPROPRIATE MUSIC AND COSTUMES - We are a Christian owned studio, and while keeping
up with current music trends, all selections used in class and for performance are age appropriate
and edited for content.

skills that help their minds and bodies develop as they learn coordination, memorization, and social
skills.
FOCUS ON THE ART OF DANCE - The trend in dance today is to focus on "competitive" dance. We
believe that at its core, dance is a performance art, and as such we structure our classes around
keeping the integrity of the art form. Our students will be given the opportunity to take part in
competitions to gain performance experience, but competition participation is not at the core of
our training. We believe that our students can excel in dance without having to participate in
multiple competitions each year.
AGE APPROPRIATE TRAINING - At Katharine's Academy of Dance we believe that it is important to
teach our students that dance is not about "shaking it" or doing flashy "tricks", but rather it is
about artistry, control, strength and solid technique, all the elements that are required to become a
successful dancer.
INSTRUCTORS THAT CONTINUE THEIR OWN PERSONAL DANCE EDUCATION - We believe that it is
necessary as a dance instructor to constantly pursue your own personal dance education in order
to stay up to date with our ever changing art form and to stay in shape as a dancer. Because our
instructors all have a commitment to pursuing their own continued dance education you can be
assured your child will have the best instruction we can give them.
