Classes we Offer
Ballet -
We offer an intensive nine level Ballet program, and while we train in a variety of styles, we use the Vagonova Syllabus as the basis for our class structure.
All classes in our Ballet program include a full Barre warm-up, stretching, Centre work including Adagio, Petit Allegro, and Turns, and Across the floor exercises including Grande Allegro. Students will study Ballet vocabulary, technique, and history.
Our students will also have opportunities to attend performances by professional ballet companies; In the past we have attended performances by American Ballet Theatre, Alonzo King's Lines Ballet, and the Joffrey Ballet.
Ballet is the most important style of dance to study for every classically trained dancer, it is the foundation of technique, and therefore as a pre-requisite, the student must be enrolled in at least one Ballet class per week in order to enroll in any Jazz, Lyrical, or Turns and Leaps class.
Our Ballet program is offered for ages 7 (with instructor approval) and up.
Pointe -
We offer pointe classes for students ages 11 and up who have at least two years minimum of intensive ballet training and are enrolled in level 3 or higher in our ballet program.
Pointe training is not an alternate style of ballet, but rather an additional skill that ballet students acquire in their training.
Pointe work is never guaranteed for any student, physical limitations may not allow for Pointe work for every dancer. All students must take a Pointe exam before beginning classes, as well as checking with their physician.
Students who qualify for the exam will receive a "Pointe Packet" regarding information on their examination and other important information.

Contemporary -
Contemporary dance is an evolving collection of interdependent training systems and choreographic approaches arising from the drive of 20th and 21st century dance artists to make dance performances relevant to the contemporary culture. Various physical and compositional techniques have arisen through processes used to explore the structure and dynamics of bodies in space to create a dance.
Contemporary dance combines elements of modern and post-modern technique, and in such is not a unique dance technique, but rather an exploration of modern dance in all its forms.
